Bernard's Dream is a novel which revolves the main character, Bernard Goldberg, a jeweler from New York who sells his business, and retires to Miami, Florida. While feeding pigeons from a bench in the city park, he is approached by a forty-two year old hooker who solicits him. Disgusted, he complies by lighting her cigarette and politely asks her to move on. Little did he know that his relationship with this woman would lead him into a life of crime and wealth far beyond his imagination. His suddenly acquired wealth becomes under the scrutiny of the IRS, FBI, CIA, and the Miami Police. In short time, his heavenly dreams of wealth becomes his hellish nightmare. With a setting in Miami, 1965-1970, there are chapters in Key West, New York City, Bahamas, the Everglades, Key largo, Cuba, the Mediterranean, and the Philippines. With multicross genres, they include romantic comedy, mystery, multicultural, family drama, police/crime/detective, thriller, suspense, pirates on the high seas, diving for Spanish treasure, drug trafficking in the Everglades and Florida Keys, organized prostitution, rescue of seventy-two Cuban refugees at sea, and much more. Originally from the Philippines, she becomes the heroine of the novel with her fearless leadership and respect from all of the maritime population in south Florida.
